Now, let's get started

wireless blood pressure monitor

HOW IT WORKS:

Wireless Blood Pressure Monitor uses your smartphone (iOS or Android) as the display and uses Bluetooth to connect your phone wirelessly to the cuff. The monitor uses 4 AAA batteries and an air pump inside a small cylinder attached to the cuff. Pair the monitor to your smartphone or tablet and download the free Healthmate app to begin. To take your blood pressure, wrap the cuff around your upper arm and press the power button on the cylinder housing. As the unit powers on, it will make the Bluetooth connection to your phone and automatically launch the app and leave it on the screen where you Press the button to start the measurement. Your phone needs to be unlocked and awake for the app to launch; otherwise you'll need to launch the app manually. The measurement takes about 40 seconds to complete, and the app keeps track of your measurements (blood pressure and heart rate) on a chart for handy comparisons of your readings over time. The monitor is medically compliant with European medical device regulations and has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. You can also share your data, either via email or direct download from your smartphone or tablet, if you're The doctor is equipped for the transfer. The monitor works with iPhone 3GS or newer, iPad 2 and newer, Android phones or tablets 4.0 or newer. The apps are not tablet-optimized, so you'll just see the phone version on your screen. The monitor can use regular Bluetooth and Bluetooth 4.0. There's also a USB port with an adapter included so you can connect the monitor to your phone via its sync cable if needed. If you have more than one person at home who wants to monitor their blood pressure, it's possible for each to download the app and use the device. When powered up, it will automatically try to connect to the phone it last used. To use the monitor on another phone, make sure the other smartphones that use the monitor have Bluetooth turned off or they're out of Bluetooth range (about 30 feet). After 10 seconds of not finding the last used phone, the monitor goes into discoverable mode to connect to other phones. There's only one button on the monitor. It turns the unit on or off and if pressed during a measure, it will stop the reading immediately.

HOW TO USE:

  •   Measure your blood pressure twice a day: Ideally at the same time each day. Take the first measurement in the morning after you go to the bathroom but before you eat, exercise, drink anything caffeinated or take medication. Take the second measurement before dinner or at least 30 minutes after consuming food, alcohol, caffeine or tobacco. Again, use the bathroom first, as a full bladder can slightly increase your blood pressure.
  •  Get comfortable: You should be seated in a chair, back supported with your legs uncrossed and feet flat on the floor.
  •   Position your arm properly: Always use the same arm to take your blood pressure (If one arm tends to produce a higher reading, use that one). Rest it on a flat surface, such as a table, with your upper arm at heart level (prop it up with a pillow if it's too low). The cuff should be wrapped snugly, but not tight, around the bare skin of your upper arm, directly above the bend in your elbow.
  •  Sit quietly: Take five minutes to get calm and relaxed in this position. Try not to think about anything stressful.
  •  Take two to three readings: Keep your body in the same position and try not to talk while your device is taking a reading. If your device doesn't automatically record your result, write it down along with the time. Leave the cuff in place deflated, wait one to two minutes and then take another reading. Repeat this process a third time and then average the results. It's normal for your blood pressure to be about five points lower at home than at the doctor's office.

 SAFETY MEASURES:

  •  Read all of the information in the Owner’s Manual and other provided instructions before operating the unit.
  •  Consult your medical professional for any of the following situations: The application of the cuff over a wound or inflamed area. The application of the cuff on any limb with intravascular access or therapy, or an arteriovenous (A-V) shunt. The application of the cuff on the arm on the side of a mastectomy. Simultaneous use with other medical monitoring equipment on the same limb. The blood circulation of the user needs to be checked.
  •  Do not use this product in a moving vehicle as this may result in inaccurate measurements.
  •  If you are using a smartphone to operate the device and a phone call comes in during the measurement, the measurement process will be terminated automatically. It is thus recommended that the phone be set in Airplane mode during measurement to avoid interrupting the measurements.
  • If an Irregular Heartbeat (IHB) is detected during the measurement procedure, the IHB symbol will be displayed. Under this condition, the Wireless Blood Pressure The monitor can keep functioning, but the results may be inaccurate. Please consult your medical professional for an accurate assessment. The IHB symbol will be displayed under 2 sets of circumstances:
                         1) The coefficient of variation (CV) of the pulse is higher than 25%.
                         2) The difference of adjacent pulse periods is higher or equal to 0.14s and the number                                of such pulse takes more than 53 percent of the total number of pulses.
  •   Please do not use any cuff other than that supplied by the manufacturer as this may result in inaccurate measurements.

BENEFITS:

  • Record unlimited data to be displayed in a table with time and date
  • Perform advanced measurements to screen for 5 major cardiovascular profiles including:
  • Fast Heartbeat
  • Slow Heartbeat
  • Irregular Heartbeat
  • Atrial Fibrillation
  • Cardiovascular Evaluation
  • Take average measurements of 3 consecutive measurements. An important feature especially for those with IHB and AF to ensure accurate readings.
  • Analyze your average for the most recent 7, 14, or 30 days or view as a chart to see changes over time.

ITS IMPACTS ON LIFE:

Doctors, physician assistants, nurses and other healthcare professionals recommend home blood pressure monitoring for various reasons, including the ability to:
• Be constantly aware of a vital indicator of your overall health.
• Provide your doctor with information to better understand and manage your high or low blood pressure.
• See how you are responding to medication.

Many types of hypertension can only be detected by monitoring your blood pressure at home, including:
• White-coat Hypertension: blood pressure reading is high in doctor's office but lower at home
• Masked Hypertension: blood pressure reading is low in doctor's office but higher at home
Additionally, many factors can affect your blood pressure, including physical exertion, emotional fluctuations, medications and stress, so it is important to regularly monitor your blood pressure at home.
Monitoring your blood pressure at home allows you to more easily be in a relaxed state plus the flexibility to take your measurements at various times during the day. By keeping track of your home blood pressure readings, you can provide your healthcare professional with a log of blood pressure measurements over time, which can help them evaluate the effectiveness of your treatment.
